It is a location that many tourists want to visit and where many couples plan their ideal destination weddings. It is also known as the City of Lakes, Venice of the East, and Kashmir of Rajasthan. To best describe it, we will say that it is well-known for its Rajput-era palaces and picturesque locations.
You’re right—Udaipur is the place where my heart truly belongs.
Places to visit in Udaipur
Udaipur’s Royal City Palace
The largest palace complex in Rajasthan is the gorgeous City Palace of Udaipur, which is situated on the shore of Lake Pichola.
With some exquisitely crafted balconies, windows, colourful tint glasses, marble and mirror work, and the big chambers, it is the ideal illustration of Marwar architecture!
The palace also features a museum and a crystal gallery where you can learn about the Maharajas’ way of life in Udaipur.
Sunset boat ride on Lake Pichola
If you visit Udaipur, make sure to take a boat ride on the lovely, shimmering Lake Pichola!
You will pass by the renowned Lake Palaces, Jagat Niwas Palace, Gangaur Ghat, and Ambrai Ghat along the journey.
Sunset boat rides are incredibly calming and captivating.
Spend the evening in Udaipur at Ambrai Ghat.
My favourite spot in Udaipur to unwind on a calm evening is Ambrai Ghat.
Many tourists will just sit by the lake and observe how the water’s colours change as the sun sets.
The charming City Palace can also be seen sparkling in the night from the Ambrai Ghat.
Dine at Ambrai Restaurant – Udaipur.
Evening at Ambrai will be nothing less than a romantic dinner in the Bollywood style.
a table with a glass of red wine facing the moonlit lake and the lighted City Palace.
Right, it sounds perfect.
Both the view and the cuisine are excellent.
It’s a good idea to reserve the space TWO days in advance.
Ambrai is busy on the weekends and at prime time, making it difficult to find a table in the ideal location.
Sajjangarh Fort (Monsoon Palace)
After the passing of Maharaja Sajjan Singh, who had conceived of this notion, Sajjangarh fort was transformed from what had been intended to be the Marwar kingdom’s astronomical centre into a fort.
Aravalli Hills surround it, and it offers breathtaking views of the lakes and city of Udaipur.
The Aravalli hills are enveloped in an orange sky at sunset (look at the view)
King’s Vintage & Classic Car Museum.
The Udaipur Kings were quite serious about their vehicles!
One of these vehicles has appeared in Bond films, I assure you!
The Maharaja still owns this impressive collection of automobiles, which is on display at the Udaipur vintage vehicle museum.
Seven. Karni Mata Temple
You won’t find anything like the morning and nighttime views of the city from the Karni Mata shrine anyplace
The approximately 25,000 black rats that reside there are another notable aspect of the shrine.
Take the ropeway from Deendayal Upadhyay Marg or the stairs from Dudh Talai to go to the shrine (Manikyalal Verma Park).
It will take about 20 minutes to walk the stairs, which is preferable to paying for the ropeway.
Wander about Gangaur Ghat in Udaipur early in the morning
Morning walks are the ideal for soaking up a city’s actual vibes.
You’ll see deserted streets, sellers preparing up their wares, and individuals making their way to the temple for morning prayers.
Sounds a lot different from the crowded lunchtime marketplaces, no?
You can observe residents feeding hundreds of birds at Gangaur Ghat in the early morning.
Sit beside the lake and take in the enthusiasm of the morning.
